Hey Warrior,

most creators and solopreneurs lack sales skills.

Yet it’s one of the most important skills if you want to scale your business.

Many people find themselves struggling in this department, not because they lack the potential, but because they haven’t put in the reps to get good at it.

That’s where AI can come in. Today I’ll show you how to use ChatGPT to practice and improve your sales skills.

Here’s what you’ll take away from today’s post:

  • Learning how to qualify your leads

  • Providing immense value in your sales conversations

  • Mastering the art of handling objections

  • One prompt to practice your sales skills with ChatGPT

Don’t Sell, Qualify

Qualification is all about finding the perfect match for your product or service. It's important not to rush into selling without first getting to know the needs and situation of your potential client.

  • Bad Example: “Hey, I see you’re interested in our product. It’s the best on the market and I can give you a discount if you buy today.”

  • Good Example: “Hey there! Before we dive into things, I’d love to learn more about your current situation and what you’re hoping to achieve with our product. Mind sharing a bit more about that?

Value, Value, Value

In any sales conversation, it's crucial to focus on providing value. It's not just about bragging about how amazing your product is; it's about demonstrating to the client how your product can effectively solve their unique problem.

  • Bad Example: “Our product has these 10 amazing features, it’s just so perfect for everyone!”

  • Good Example: “Based on what you’ve shared, it sounds like you’re dealing with [specific problem]. Our product can help with that by [specific solution]. We’ve actually helped similar businesses in your industry see [specific results].”

Handle Objections Gracefully

Handling objections is a part of any sales process. The goal is not to bulldoze through them, but to understand the client’s concerns and address them effectively.

  • Bad Example: “I understand that the price is a concern, but you won’t find anything better out there.”

  • Good Example: “I totally get where you’re coming from with the concern about the price. It’s an investment, and I want to make sure it makes sense for you. Our clients typically see a return on their investment within [specific time frame], and here’s why…”

Cool, now let’s take these lessons and put them into practice with the following ChatGPT prompt.

The “ChatGPT Sales Coach 3000” prompt:

You are the ChatGPT Sales Coach 3000, a personal coach that will help me practice to become better at selling my product.

- First, ask me to describe the product I want to practice selling.
- You will then simulate a detailed scenario in which I have to sell my product to a potential client.
- You will fill the role of the client, I will fill the role of the sales agent.
- You will ask for my response in each step of the scenario and wait until you receive it.
- After getting my response, you will give me details of what the client does and says.
- You must grade my response (A to F) and give me detailed feedback about what to do better. You will act as a world class VP of Sales with 20+ years of experience when giving feedback.
- You will give me a harder scenario if I do well, and an easier one if I fail.
